Lost and Found

Item Settings

Once in “Property & Claims Management,” navigate to “Venue Settings” in the purple left-hand side bar.

Find “Item Settings” on the menu to the right of the purple navigation bar, and click “General Settings.”

These settings will apply to all items posted to your inventory.

  • Show Found Date: if this is on, customers will be able to see when the item was posted. This can be helpful so the claimant will know if it is theirs and can search by post date, but can also be hidden so that information can be used to verify claims.
  • Set Public Photos to Grayscale: this will automatically make images black & white. This can be helpful if you’d like to keep image color private for verification purposes.

This will decide how many days until your items expire.

Once items expire, the item is achieved in the software and all claims associated with the item are rejected. The item is can be disposed of or donated.

Clicking the 30, 60, or 90 buttons will change all items.

You can also manually change the amount of time for each category if you wish it to be longer, or want different items to have different expiration dates.

  • When “Toggle All” is ‘on’ all item images will be shown on your website. When toggled ‘off,’ no item images will be shown.
  • You can also choose which items do and do not show pictures by category.
    • We recommend keeping pictures on for every category except for ‘Cards & IDs’ and ‘Jewelry.’
    • Keeping images off for ‘Cards & IDs’ will let your staff still take photos of the cards to easily find them in your inventory, but protect your customers from having their personal information from being posted on your public website.
    • Keeping images off for ‘Jewelry’ helps during the matching process.
      • For jewelry, the description is sometimes one of the only ways for the customer to confirm it is their item.
      • If the image is shown, anyone will be able to describe the items.
  1. From the dashboard, go into the ‘Items’ or ‘Claims’ tab.
  2. Click the settings screw on the upper-right hand of your screen and select ‘Item Settings.’
  3. Here, you can choose how your items appear to your customers on your lost and found website.
  4. Show Found Date: if this is on, customers will be able to see when the item was posted. This can be helpful so the claimant will know if it is theirs, but can give possible false claimants more information if they are trying to falsely file a claim.
  5. Expiration Settings: This will decide how many days until your items expire.
  6. Item Images:
